This beautiful resort is part of the Small Luxury Hotels group and can be reached by seaplane transfer in 25 minutes from Male. Kandolhu is one of the smallest islands in the Maldives with white sands and clear blue waters, surrounding by a colorful and lively house reef.
Being one of Maldives more intimate and exclusive luxury resorts, Kandolhu offers only 30 villas in 5 different styles. All of them offers a direct beach access or views to the Indian Ocean. We stayed in the Ocean Pool Villa and the Ocean villa facing the sunset which is the best accommodation type at Kandolhu. The water villas has their own private jetty and include a spacious bedroom with king bed in a minimalist design. One of the best features of the villa is the oversized outdoor/indoor bathroom which is located on the deck. The duplex villa is really spacious and offers an unique design facing the beach and having their own pool.
Kandolhu offers seven different dining options including The Market, Olive, Sea Grill, Banzai, Ata Roa, and In-villa dining, as well as the option to arrange a special private dinner for those seeking for the most romantic experience. There is also the Vilu Bar where you can try their fun, signature house-made cocktails. I had the best food I have never had , special mention to the breakfast but also the fresh new Mexican restaurant where “Jairo” cook live all the tacos or ceviche you want.
WE Absolutely LOVED the following:
- The island is small and you can get around easily by foot
- The food is delicious ( very talented French Chef)
- The house reef is full of marine life and offers some of the best snorkeling in the Maldives( we saw a lot of sharks and turtles)
- They offered lot of activities and excursion options. Going to the sandbank was one of our favorite experience of all time till now.
